How to make a Google review QR code for your shop (and where to put it)

A QR code that opens your Google review page is the easiest way to turn a happy customer at your counter into a review. It costs almost nothing. Here is how to make one properly, and where to put it so people actually scan it.
Step 1: Get your Google review link
- 1Sign in to the Google account that manages your business, and search for your business name on Google (or open your profile in Google Maps).
- 2In your Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews (sometimes shown as Get more reviews).
- 3Copy the short link Google shows you. It opens your review box directly.
Open the link on your phone once to check that it shows the right business and the star rating box.
Step 2: Turn the link into a QR code
Paste the link into any QR code generator and download the code as a PNG or SVG. Prefer a generator that makes a static QR code (the link is stored inside the code). Some free “dynamic” QR services stop working after a trial, and your printed codes would break.
Step 3: Print it at a size people can scan
- For a counter card scanned from arm’s length, keep the code at least about 3 cm wide; bigger is easier.
- For a poster on a wall, go much bigger: people scan from further away.
- Black on white works best. Leave a white border around the code, and don’t print it on a glossy surface that reflects light.
- Test-scan the printed copy with two different phones before you print in bulk.
Step 4: Write a short, honest line above it
Good: “Happy with us? Scan to leave a Google review. It takes 30 seconds.” Or in Hinglish: “Scan karke Google par review dein, sirf 30 second lagenge.”
Avoid “Scan for 10% off” or “Give us 5 stars”. Google’s policy does not allow rewards for reviews or asking only for positive ones.
Where to put it
| Business | Best places |
|---|---|
| Grocery / kirana | Billing counter, on the bill, on home-delivery bags |
| Restaurant / café | Table tents, with the bill folder, at the takeaway counter |
| Salon / spa | At each mirror and at reception |
| Clinic | Reception desk and the waiting area, not inside the consultation room |
| Gym / coaching centre | Reception and the exit door |
Also send the same link (not the QR) on WhatsApp after a purchase or visit; most customers review from their phone at home.
Keep it working
- If you change your business name or verify a new profile, re-test the code.
- Replace faded or scratched cards.
- Reply to the reviews that come in. Customers who see replies are more likely to write one.
The shortcut
StartCloudOps Review creates a ready-to-print review QR flyer and a WhatsApp review link for every location as soon as you connect Google. Customers who scan pick their stars and what they liked, can start from an editable draft in English, Hinglish or Hindi, and post on Google in their own words. Every rating goes to Google.

Frequently asked questions
Is a Google review QR code free?
Yes. The review link comes free from your Google Business Profile, and many QR generators make static codes for free.
Does a Google review QR code expire?
A static QR code never expires; it keeps working as long as the link inside it works. Some “dynamic” QR services stop redirecting when a subscription ends, so prefer static codes for printing.
